Diagnosis of myocardial re-infarction – Answer

Biomarker least useful in diagnosis of myocardial re-infarction:

Answer: a) Troponin I

Diagnostic troponin elevations can be seen within six hours, but the values remain in diagnostic range for about two weeks. Hence diagnosis of re-infarction is difficult with troponin estimation. It will be preferable to look for re-elevation of CPK-MB in this situation.
