Structures passing deep to flexor retinaculum of the hand
Structures passing deep to flexor retinaculum of the hand are:
- Median nerve
- Radial bursa
- Ulnar bursa
Tendons of
- Flexor pollicis longus
- Flexor digitorum superficialis
- Flexor digitorum profundus
Flexor carpi radialis (one tendon) is considered by some as part of the carpal tunnel, although it is more precise to state that it travels in the flexor retinaculum which covers the carpal tunnel, rather than running in the tunnel itself.
Remember – Flexor carpi ulnaris tendon does not pass under flexor retinaculum!
