Anterior ciliary arteries
Arteries of eyeball – lateral view
Origin – muscular branches of ophthalmic artery
Course and supply:
- Reaches the eyeball by passing along with the tendons of the rectus muscles (except lateral rectus)
- forms a circumcorneal subconjunctival vascular zone
- pierces the sclera near sclerocorneal junction to end in the greater arterial circle of iris ( ciculus ateriosus major )
