Late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) or delayed enhancement CMR is thought to reflect fibrosis and irreversibly damaged myocardium including acute and chronic myocardial infarction (MI).Independent of wall motion or infarct age, regions exhibiting enhancement at least 10 minutes after the injection of gadolinium-based contrast coincide with regions of myocardial necrosis and irreversible injury; regions that fail to enhance are viable.

SO in the light of above staement it seems both of you statements mentioned as answer are true.
I take that back, I think the 2cnd statement is wrong…..
