Blood specimen for neonatal thyroid screening is obtained on:
1. 72 hours after birth
2. 48 hours after birth
3. Cord blood
4. 24 hours after birth
Answer is within 72 hrs after birth, NOT cord blood.

@Sai, Thank you for your comment. The answer has been updated. We did a search and found that, according to American Academy of Pediatrics Guidelines, cord blood is to be used only if there is family history of hypothyroidism.
